• Make a note of the original email address (username) and password
  • Open Microsoft Outlook
  • TOOLS
  • OPTIONS
  • MAIL SET UP
  • EMAIL ACCOUNTS
  • NEW
  • select MICROSOFT EXCHANGE, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP
  • NEXT
  • YOUR NAME
  • EMAIL ADDRESS (the original)
  • PASSWORD (the one you normally use)
  • RETYPE PASSWORD
  • NEXT

Outlook will then search for server settings – this will probably be unsuccessful!

  • When it does fail (takes about 60 secs to do so), click NEXT
  • It will now search again for UNENCRYPTED server settings
  • When you have 3 green ticks, select FINISH
  • Then go to EMAIL ACCOUNTS and highlight the new entry
  • Click CHANGE
  • change YOUR NAME and E-MAIL ADDRESS to what you want your alias to be (EG: Fred Bloggs AND accounts@whatever.com.au
  • Click MORE SETTINGS
  • put the new email address in Fields 1 and 3
  • Click OK
  • TEST ACCOUNT SETTINGS to be sure that it works
How To Create A New Signature For Your Alias
  • Open Microsoft Outlook
  • TOOLS
  • OPTIONS
  • MAIL FORMAT
  • SIGNATURES
  • select NEW
  • give the new alias a name for the signature
  • Click OK
  • Create The Signature (top right hand corner)
  • Click OK
  • then go to CHOOSE DEFAULT SIGNATURE
  • select the new signature
  • under NEW MESSAGES select the signature to be used
  • repeat this for REPLIES/FORWARDS if required
  • Click OK
  • Click OK
